more about CARE

CARE is an organisation with a vision “for everyone to have a fair chance in life, an equal opportunity.”

CARE has been providing assistance to people of all races, religions and ethnicities for over 70 years. They aim to create long lasting change by tackling inequality across 94 countries. At the heart of their work lies women and girls, as they are dedicated to giving them equal opportunities to end poverty more effectively.

CARE ensures that the money you donate to their organisation is well spent. In 2018/19, CARE Australia spent

o 90% on programs,

o 7% was reinvested to raise future funds, and

o 3% was spent on administration to contribute to a better organisation.

CARE’s COVID-19 Emergency Appeal aims to reach the areas of the world that are stricken

by poverty and conflict, places where healthcare systems are already weak and under-resourced, and where disaster or conflict has wiped out supplies. CARE believes it is necessary to act now by getting critical soap, clean water and information on preventing the spread of COVID-19 to these areas.

Syria and places near Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh have just confirmed their first cases. In these areas, physical distancing is near impossible, and clean water and soap are considered luxuries.

Already, CARE has reached 9 million people with messages on hygiene and have provided 2.6 million people with access to clean water. 5.3 million have been given direct training, and 193 million have been able to access information about COVID-19 through mass media supported by CARE.

By donating to CARE, we will be able to help them provide hygiene kits, clean water and emergency supplies to the most vulnerable, to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
